Very interesting read ... thanks for sharing your remembrances. Must have been exciting and scary to be there at the time. I too always have wondered why the U.S. doesn't have a better relationship with Russia. It seems to become clearer, the more I learn, that it's because Putin didn't allow the country to be raped & pillaged by the West.
