Mid-Year Appeal
Our cat fundraiser has stalled a bit, so I’m sending out a mid-year appeal to ask for your help.
The cats and I hope you can help with a contribution!

A quick recap …
When we moved back to Oklahoma — with our four cats (Callie, Emma, Lucy and DeLyon) on a long drive from L.A. — we didn’t expect to have more cats. Then, cats in need started appearing. What could we do but do what we could to take care of them? Two of them were diagnosed with a disease called stomatitis which resulted in large vet bills and ultimately the removal of their teeth. And at the suggestion of a friend, that’s how the fundraiser was born to meet those bills.
The number of cats killed in U.S. shelters remains high. In 2023, an estimated 330,000 cats were euthanized in the country, according to the 2023 Animal Sheltering Data report. In Oklahoma, in 2020, 11,560 cats and dogs were killed. Or, looking on the positive side, nearly 78 percent of the animals in shelters were saved.
There’s a lot of work to be done still to bring those numbers down!
For the equivalent of a cup of coffee ...
Our coffee maker recently went kaput, so I started going to Starbucks — hadn’t been in a while. My usual coffee drink had gone from $5 to $6 and change. Inflation, right? My ask for Callie’s Cathouse was going to be $5 — the price of a coffee. So, I’ll leave it at that, keeping out the inflation! (I have noticed the inflation in the price of cat food too!)
Will you give $5 to Callie’s Cathouse?
If you can, please contribute online at https://www.givesendgo.com/calliescathouse.
The platform that hosts the fundraiser will delete Callie’s fundraiser if it doesn’t generate some contributions each month. We’re at 25 percent of goal, and it would be great to see it fully funded!
Callie and all the cats appreciate you buying them a coffee, or two! Thank you for any support!
Much appreciation!
